Talent is a must in order to keep curiosity alive. In order for us to provide a positive learning experience, we require applicants to show a basic talent for music. Our entrance auditions are designed primarily to evaluate just that.

Meeting the
Age Limit
Age limits apply for acceptance into grade Pre Elementary / Elementary of the Basic Education Program and are calculated in reference to the month of May of the year of application. Variations of +/- 3 months are acceptable.
Please note that acceptance into grades Pre Elementary / Elementary of the Basic Education Program does not require the applicant to have any prior instrumental / music experience.

Exceeding the Age Limit
Applicants who exceed the age limits given above but do have prior musical experience may be accepted into the YPM Music School as long as they show sufficient ability on their chosen instrument.
Formula: Applicant’s age (14) – Maximum age limit for piano (12) = 2
In such case, the applicant’s instrumental ability will be evaluated as part of his/her entrance audition. Requirements apply and can be found here.
