  • Basic Education Program (6 to 8 years)
  • Pre-Conservatoy Program (3 to 4 years)

about-smypm-no-image-600x350The instrumental major builds the core of a student's education at the YPM Music School and determines all other aspects throughout his/her studies at the YPM Music School.

Whereas academic subjects are taught in classes, instrument lessons are always held one-on-one (private).

Our students can choose from the following instrument majors:

  • Piano
  • Violin
  • Guitar
  • Flute
  • Voice
  • Harp - new starting 2015-2016!

All of the above instrument majors are offered for both the Basic Education Program as well as for the Pre-Conservatory Program.

Academic and ensemble classes vary according to the student's instrument major and the program in which he/she is enrolled. They are:

about-04The core curriculum at the YPM Music School focuses on the teaching of classical western music and spans over 1 academic year divided into 2 semesters (April - September and October - March).

While progress in academic and ensemble classes are being tested at the end of the semester (finals), a student's standing in his/her instrument major is being tested once at the end of every academic year (jury).

about-smypm-no-image-600x350Running 2 yearly concert seasons, the YPM Music School offers plenty of opportunities for students to perform on stage.

Every year throughout the months of Mei, June and July, the YPM Music School organizes approximatly 20 to 25 student concert both at our schools in Manggarai and in Bintaro as well as throughout the Jakarta area.
During the months of October through Desember an average of 15 more student concerts are being held.

about-smypm-no-image-600x350Master Classes, Workshops, Lectures Recitals are important elements to further our students' knowledge, to nurture their motivation and their joy.

Thanks to our wide network and partnerships with embassies and national as well as foreign cultural institutions, we are able to frequently enrich our students with the love and dedication brought upon by many visiting artists.

about-smypm-no-image-600x350The YPM Music School hosts a faculty of more than 100 dedicated teachers, each specializing in their instrumental and/or academic diciplines.

With the world constantly evolving, adaptation of teaching methods and incorporation of new material and knowledge is a constant must for our faculty and is being implemented through regular in-house training, faculty workshops, sponsored master classes or through other platforms.

about-smypm-no-image-600x350Tuition and fees vary depending on a student's class grade and the program in which he/she is enrolled.

Tuition payments, due every month, are all-inclusive payments covering costs for lessons, classes, ensembles, academic finals, participation in concerts etc.
Fees, such as the fee for instrumental juries, are one-time payments and will only be charged upon confirmed participation of the student.
